OSTRALE`012

OSTRALE`012  `homegrown` / July 13th - September 16th 2012

The OSTRALE`012 homegrown is taking place from Juli 13th – September 16th 2012. In it`s sixth year the festival is dealing with the localization of creative impulses in a temporal, areal and cultural context. “homegrown” means the self grown, self raised and is given multiple references in the context of an international art festival. Art as distinct externalization is always standing between the poles of each culture and the national, regional and local, political and social situation, tradition and developments. How do we organize contemporary, creative impulses which always change?

The OSTRALE`012 will exhibit about 150 international artists in the historic heritage-protected buildings of the Hans-Erlwein Slaughter House. The modules „IAM-international art moves“ - the art academy network of the OSTRALE - and the OSTRALE cultural education will be further developed in the context of the festival.

The application period for artists is starting on November 1st 2011 and ends on December 31st 2011.
